CURB is simply the most powerful and intelligent integrated hardware/software system for visualizing and managing energy. CURB monitors six dimensions of real-time energy usage data at 8,000 times per second through multiple digital signal processors (DSPs) and comes with 18 dedicated hardware sensors (CT-clamps) for accurate disaggregation of appliances and circuits. Multiple CURBs can even be linked together for larger homes & commercial buildings. CURB connects to the cloud through on-board HomePlug circuitry or its dedicated Ethernet port (using WiFi or direct-connect).

iPhone and Android apps provide easy to understand and actionable information, with direct control of appliances using Samsung’s SmartThings API. The desktop dashboard enables you to visualize historical trends, notifications alert you about abnormal events, and personalized weekly emails keep you up to date on energy-saving progress.

As a new homeowner, the CURB system has proved indispensable for me. I get instant feedback on exactly how much electricity each appliance and outlet is using around the house. I probably use it most for things like: seeing the impact I'm getting when I upgrade to more efficient light bulbs, checking whether or not I've left any appliances on when I leave the house, and tracking my cumulative electricity costs at the end of each week/month. (For anyone who's debating whether or not to install a pool at their house, check out some of my screenshots. Yikes!).

The CURB system offers several different ways to view your information (desktop/laptop, tablet, phone), but I probably just check things on my phone most often. The user interface is clean and it's so convenient. You can even tailor all the labels any way you like them.

This energy monitoring system nicely fills a need I've long had at my house -- where's all of that electricity going!?! The data it collects is super valuable to me. I love the fact that there's a web interface, an Android App, and an iPhone/iPad app. I use all three and they give quite comprehensive insight about your energy usage.

I really can't say enough good things about the CURB system. Buy one for yourself. Now.
